today's my last day in KL before hitting the road and heading south again tomorrow. *ugh*
managed to squeeze in a visit to my 'dai pak's place this morning. woohoo...had great hainan beef curry there. man, i sure miss out a lot nowadays since i don't get to explore hainanese culture, my heritage - the food and the language. must visit hainan island in the future, it's very beautiful. i think even the Miss World pageant was held there before. next time round i'm back my uncle will make for me hainan beef stew...can't wait for it!!!
rushed to klcc next to meet my dear friend hooiching! thanks for being patient with me(coz you were early), and also for tolerating all my nonsense and ill-preparedness. i think we had to walk half the entire suria klcc before deciding on Secret Recipe. hmmm, her appetite 'supposedly' depends on her mood, so i think i'll have a hard time trying to get good comments about my cooking next time if i were to get her to try them for me. ^_^. every minute spent today with her was so precious, even more precious because we hardly meet. i think i should write emails more often to her again, that's how our friendship blossomed. "a safe place far away to dump my thoughts".whee...got my birthday present in advance. yippie! thanks for coming today, you made my day!
dinner was marvelous! birthday treat from parents - buffet dinner @ hotel mandarin oriental, KL. the oysters today are the most fresh ever that i've eaten. no cheesecake served on buffet line but..upon request from my mum to the GM, we were given 3 slices of baked cheese! ate to my heart's content, simply terrific meal...words alone can't describe.
gotta pack my stuff for tomorrow's journey.
